The Absolut Idol : MIRA DUMA
Every time I go to the supermarket , every time I log on a web site in the internet , every time I turn on the tv , every time I hang out with my friends , I always hear talking about the same topic and magically it happens to be my biggest obsession and my greatest love ever . Birkin bags , Christian Louboutin shoes , Lanvin dresses , Burberry porsum trench coat , Hermes bracelets, Rolex watches …that’s actually what I’m talking about and happily , it all makes my world turn in a very smooth way.
Since a very early age , I’ve fallen deeply in love with the fashion world and all the glam and glitter related to it . I even remember that cute little girl in me watching and admiring fashion shows all the time , trying to imitate the models on the cat walk and learning the tiniest movements , tricks and tips .and with years passing by and that child in me getting older , my love got bigger every day and here I am , after 18 years , still having the same loving feelings and the unlimited passion for the fashion industry . but unfortunately , living in a country where fashion is not given its real value is not helpful at all . Actually , people in under developed countries have no interest in fashion , it’s more like the last thing to think about and that remains to the basic essentials of life that are absent . the economic and social problems in such countries are way too dangerous for their population to think about ‘ elementary ‘ things . and that is literally the general idea and concept that Tunisian people consider . even though , society is becoming more consumer and people are more opened to the buy and sell fact , this specific domain still remains as a minor subject and is not any kind of care or importance .in a part , it is all caused by the obsolete and retrograde mentality inherited from our ancestors that absolutely needs to be changed as quick as possible . Some people still regard fashion as a taboo subject noticing that we are living in a Muslim country where a girl is supposed to wear the Burka and all that related crap , where the girl is not considered as a human being but a body and a desire-satisfaction toy … , other consider it as an unnecessary and useless industry because we don’t have the main and essential basics and backgrounds to progress and evaluate such as a real governmental support and back up. And that the exact explanation of a poor dramatic society I’m unfortunately obliged to cooperate and deal with even if our purpse is enormously different…
